Garden Services
If you are considering a new garden project, dig down to see how I could help you bring those dreams to life…
Garden Design
From concept sketches to master plans, I can help redesign your outdoor space. Soft landscaping is where my expertise really lies, but I can also provide hard landscaping designs and inspiration for seating areas, paths, garden furniture and beyond, to bring the whole scheme together.
Coastal gardens in particular need careful planning to ensure that they can withstand the ravages of the wind, and also to allow owners to enjoy alfresco dining in comfort. Here in the New Forest, where open heathland extends to the shores of the Solent, blustery barbecues are something we’ve all experienced, but clever design can overcome many of these challenges.
If you don’t need a whole garden makeover, then planting plans can be prepared for specific features such as a new border or a gravel garden. This is where my practical gardening experience and in-depth knowledge of plants can really add value to the design process.
It sounds simple, but the late Beth Chatto was really onto something when she coined the phrase, “Right plant, right place”. I can help select plants that will thrive in your garden, and look fantastic without the need for vast quantities of water or pesticides. The '“right plants” will save a lot of time and energy in the long run.

Planting & Maintenance
Usually, I would carry out the planting up of the final design myself, unless it is of a scale that requires a landscape contractor.
Once the garden is finished (to the extent that a garden can ever be described as finished!), ongoing maintenance is essential to ensure that it grows on as intended. Our initial consultation will include a discussion of who will look after the garden going forwards, and designs adapted accordingly.
I may be able to offer a regular or periodic maintenance service for new plantings if required, or to provide a maintenance schedule for your gardener.
